LG 42LGX Review

When it comes to LCD television sets, there's such a wide array of models to choose from, that shopping for my ideal set proved to be one big mass of confusion. However, I decided to give the LG 42LGX a try and have not regretted my decision of yet. I wanted one with a 1080p rather than a lesser pixel, so that part of my decision was easy. The features of this set is only part of what reeled me in. Ultimately picture quality was the deciding factor for me.

Some of the features that I love about this LG 42LGX 42 inch HDTV is the slim design and the fact that it fits so compactly into my cabinet at home. That's a plus in my book. The speakers are not in full view, which is another plus for me. I don't care for unsightly speaker marks crowded the cabinet, so the fact that they are hidden works well. And on the subject of speakers, the tone is nice and crisp. Clarity is good, and I feel it rivals even more costly models which I've had a chance to test at some of my local dealers.

The swivel stand on the LG 42LGX allows for viewing at various angels, which is another good feature. The glare on this set is very minimal, another thing which is amazing considering glare control is not any LCD TV's strong point. Even in dark or dim lighting the picture seems to adjust well. No problems in that regard. Although I ave this set on a cabinet in my large living room, it can be mounted on the wall due to the relatively light weight of this model. I like that feature and if I ever decide to go that route to make for some extra space that will be good to know. The thin design is very practical for most any situation.

Getting back to the picture quality, the thing which sold me on this model is the fact that I don't see too much blurring. Some LCD TVs can produce a picture that tends to blur with high action movement. This model seems to remain clear and distortion free even during the fastest action on the screen. The colors seem to 'pop' and are very vivid and true to life. No washing out or fading. In conclusion, I'd have to say I would recommend this television to anyone looking for a large screen LCD HDTV that is lightweight and thin and can be wall mounted or upright on a cabinet. For picture quality and sound it is a good value. For the price, it offers a host of practical features.
